You Can Get Painless Tattoos By Temporary Tattoo Designs

Remember when we were kids and how we wanted to look hip and cool ourselves by using some tattoo transfers on our face and arms? It was one of those things that we get for free from gumball machines. We thought all along that they were real tattoos and it was that simple to get a tattoo. Now that we’re older, we still prefer to get our tattoos that way, if ever we decide on having one.

Any design made on the skin using ink or any other coloring material is a tattoo, so typical designs we made with ball point pens when we were kids were actually temporary tattoo designs.

Tattoos fall into two major categories: The permanent and the temporary tattoo designs. The permanent tattoos are the ones injected beneath the skin to make the pigments stay permanent, while the temporary tattoos are designed to come off eventually. Though there are a lot of ways to make permanent tattoos, we will be focusing more on the temporary tattoo designs.

Temporary tattoo designs can be made from a lot of things.  Here are the most common:

Ballpoint Pen Temporary Tattoo
Some experts can create very intricate and detailed designs on your skin using ballpoint pens that are specially designed for making temporary tattoo designs.  The inks used are very special. The only difference between the inks is their duration on how long they would stay on the skin. With ballpoint pen temporary tattoo designs a tattoo artist will have better control over the ink and will be able to make better images.

Airbrush Temporary Tattoo
Ideal for areas that are a bit larger, like the back, airbrush techniques may also be used. This way the artist can make special effects on the skin like fading and blending. Some innovative temporary tattoo designs using airbrush are used in movies where they make it look like some parts of the body are transforming.  Some temporary tattoo designs go for the farfetched and make it appear as if there are metal parts underneath the skin, where in fact it is only the painted skin of the person.

Ours is the less serious type of temporary tattoo designs, those that come out of bubble gum or toy wrappers, which are made of ink and glues. They work by transferring the colored glue onto your skin directly.  This is why water is used to lift the temporary tattoo designs from the paper.

The temporary tattoo designs mentioned above will only last a few hours or can easily be washed away with soap and water.  However there’s temporary tattoo that takes at least a month or less to be removed.  It is called a henna tattoo.  What a henna tattoo actually does is staining the actual skin cells of the person. The dye or ink color is derived from plants which makes them very safe to use. The genuine medium are called hypo allergenic henna pastes. They don’t wash out easily even after a bath so the money you spent in having it placed is really not wasted.
